Adopt Children

Did you know that the Church has the power to fix the orphan crisis in America? It’s true! There are currently over 407,000 children/teenagers in foster care in the United States, and 120,000 of these children are eligible for adoption. With over 400,000 U.S. churches, if just one person from every church would welcome a child into his/her home, then every child would have a home.

Instead, thousands of children age out of the foster care system every year when they turn 18, never finding a foster/adoptive family. The statistics for these young adults are heartbreaking.

In the state of Pennsylvania alone, there are over 14,000 children/teenagers currently in foster care. More than 5,000 of them are 11 and older. We believe that it’s not too late for these kids, and that we can work together to solve the problem and bring them hope for a bright future.

Our God-sized goal is that we would see a day when the list of children/teenagers in the Lehigh Valley waiting for a home is empty – because there is not a single child who is unwanted, unloved, or parentless. Here are three ways to get involved:

Are you willing to open your home to a child/teenager? There are three main needs:

  • Foster a child/teenager until s/he is able to be reunited with birth parents
  • Foster a child/teenager until s/he is released for adoption
  • Adopt a child/teenager who is waiting for an adoptive family
